Lemon of Siracusa IGP/PGI


The lemon is a citrus fruit present throughout the year.

It is common in warm and temperate climate countries like ours and it is particularly sensitive to changes in temperature.

It has high water requirements and it prefers medium soils, rich in organic matter, deep and well drained.

The fruits generally have oval shape, the number of seeds depends on the variety and on the time of flowering from which they derive.
The peel is compact, smooth and rich in essential oils, these are its main characteristics.

The color of the peel varies according to the degree of maturation. The pulp is yellow, consisting of members of cloves very juicy.
