Sicilian Red Orange IGP/PGI

This citrus species, present from January to May and from October to December, requires a subtropical and temperate weather, with high water needs.

The pulp has an unrefined and tender texture, juicy and sugar content.

It prefers medium soils, rich in organic matter, deep and well drained.

The fruits presents a surface covered with papillae, a medium stalk with strong attack and a bright orange or red peel.

The orange has spherical shape with rounded base, sometimes truncated, and it is crossed by deep furrows.
